General FAQs

What is Madinah Quran Academy?
Madinah Quran Academy (MQA) is a dawah project run by the Islamic Students of Madinah, with an aim to promote the learning of Qur’an throughout the World.

It is an Online Qur’an Academy/Institute, dedicated to promote the correct learning of recitation and memorization of the Glorious Qur’an, through use of Internet Technology in conducting live classes which are supervised by Qualified & Certified Qur’an Tutors from around the world.

The Academy/Institute is also under the supervision of Scholars in order to maintain strict Shari guidelines and learning system.

Who are the courses designed for?
Our courses & programs are open for both adults & children, Male as well as Female students belonging to all languages and cultures and from all over the world.

What platform is used to conduct the classes Online?
We are currently using “Zoom” platform to conduct classes, which is one of the leading online meeting platform in the educational field around the World.

What is the procedure to join any program

To join our Academy, the procedure is as follows:

Step-1: Kindly go to “REGISTRATION PAGE” and submit the online application after filling it. Please ensure to submit separate application for each candidate (enter the details of the candidate ONLY who is willing to study with us. Parents can include their phone and email for registering kids).

Step-2: As soon as we receive your application, we shall process it and setup your Trial class, the details of which shall be sent through email.

Step-3: After the Trial class, upon your request to continue the classes, we shall send you instructions to pay the fee and upon receiving the receipt of the fee payment, your admission shall get confirmed!

Please go through the “FEE STRUCTURE” before applying for any course.

What is needed to get ready for the class?
You need a Laptop/Desktop (PC) or Smartphone (Android/iOS) or any device like Tablet/iPad; a high speed internet connection, a good headset with mic and pencil/pen with a notebook.

Laptop or Desktop: It can be of any average configuration. Our portal works perfectly with all common browsers like firefox, chrome etc. Please ensure that your browser has no issues before starting your classes. Download the desktop application of Zoom.

Smartphone or Tab: It can be either Android or Apple version. It must have “Zoom” application installed in it.

High Speed Internet Connection: We advise you to have internet connection of no less than 4 MB speed (although 1 MB also works well). This shall ensure proper and smooth flow of the class. If you have intermittent connection problem then please resolve it before you start your classes. Bad connection leaves bad impression of both the Academy and the Tutor.

Headset and Mic: A good headset with mic is another vital thing necessary for your online classes. We advise you to buy a new one so that there is no unnecessary interference due to loose/worn-out wire etc while conducting the classes.

Pen/Pencil and Notebook: Having a pencil/pen and a notebook is a very good habit while attending these classes. This shall ensure that you scribble all the important points and maintain it for revision.

What is the duration of each class? Does student get One-on-One session
Yes, these are one-to-one classes. Each student gets 30 minutes of one-to-one time with the Tutor. Each class is for duration 30 minutes approximately (25 minutes to be precise plus 5 minutes of buffer). Inshallah!

How many classes are conducted per week?
Each student can select from either of these two options:

A student who wishes to go for “3 days per week” classes, may select one of these two sets of days, i.e, “Sunday-Tuesday-Thursday” or “Monday-Wednesday-Saturday“.

OR

A student who wishes to go for “6 days per week” classes, may select all the days of the week, except Friday.

The Academy/Institute does not operate on Fridays.

How many students are there in each class?
Its a One-one-One session with the Tutor. So only one student studies with the Tutor.

Where are the Quran Tutors from? Do they speak my language?
Our Quran tutors are from different parts of the world, of varied origins, speaking different languages and hence catering to respective students. Based on your preferred language and location, we arrange for a tutor who is best suitable for you. Inshallah!
Are these Tutors Qualified? Do they have respective Ijazahs and Shahadahs?
Yes, our Quran tutors are well qualified and experienced. They all have Ijazah, Shahadah or respective qualification certificates along with years of teaching experience. Our tutor hiring process is very stringent in order to deliver good quality education.

Fee & Payment FAQs

Can i get a discount as i cannot afford the fee?
This Academy is a dawah project run by Islamic students of Madinah. In order to sustain it, lowest possible fee structure has been worked out, mainly to pay off monthly expenses like Tutor salaries, resources costs etc. We also provide 20% scholarship seats for New Muslims (reverts) who study completely free. Hiring quality tutors is very expensive and we cannot compromise in quality.

A little survey of the market will make you realize that our payment structure is the least possible for such a high quality program. So we cannot provide any discounts at this moment.

What payment system do you use to receive fee?

Currently, we use Paypal as the primary payment system to receive the student fee. As an alternative, we also accept fee through bank to bank transfers.

Since Paypal is one of the largest and most easiest forms of online payment system, most of our students find it easy to pay their fee through it. A student may pay either through a Paypal account or by using a credit/debit/cash card.

Unable to pay through online payment system

If you are unable to pay through Paypal payment system, then please request for an alternative payment method by sending an email to admin@madinahquranacademy.com.

My country is not listed on Paypal payment page!

Paypal is available in most of the countries around the world. If your country does not appear in the list of countries on Paypal, then you won’t be able to pay us through the online payment system. In such a case, please email to admin@madinahquranacademy.com and ask for alternative payment method.

Is entering Name & Email essential during payment?
Yes, this is very important. This the only way we can identify your fee payment (besides directly asking you). It is the responsibility of the student to prove that they have successfully paid their fee by either entering name & email during the Online Payment process or by sending screenshot of receipt via email to admin@madinahquranacademy.com.

Why am I receiving fee reminders even after paying it?

We apologize for this trouble. Generally fee reminder mails are sent to all the students at once. But we do mention in the mail that those who have already paid their fee, they may ignore the mail. Therefore, in case you have paid your fee and still receiving fee reminders, please ignore them!

 

Technical FAQs

How to Join or Launch the class?
Do you provide support to fix technical issues related to my computer or internet?

Sorry, we not provide technical support like fixing your laptop, internet connection problems, application problems etc. It is the responsibility of the student to have such technical issues fixed through a professional technician on their own.

However, we may help in resolving a few technical issues as a gesture to encourage the student to learn.

I can't hear properly or there is a lag/dropped words in the voice or jerky video?
Lag or dropped words in the voice occur due to slow Internet connection or high CPU usage. Follow the below steps:

  • Check speed of your Internet connection.
  • Close a few or all applications that you don’t require in the class to free system memory.
  • Try with different browser e.g.: Mozilla Firefox, Internet explorer or Chrome.
  • Do not download stuff, watch YouTube videos, update Windows/ Anti-virus software nor do any other activity which requires internet access while you are attending the classes to ensure a smooth connection between your pc and the class server.
No one can hear me?
Follow the below steps:

  • Test your microphone in audio tests; make sure your mic is plugged in and is working.
  • Check your microphone is not muted.
  • Ensure if the speakers are un-mute and level of volume is sufficient.
  • Try with different browser eg: Mozilla Firefox, Internet explorer or Chrome.
  • Try using the application on a different gadget.
My voice is not clear but I can hear tutor clearly

Follow the below steps:

  • Make sure that the sound is not on mute. Please check the sound icon at the bottom of right corner of your computer and make sure it’s not on mute and volume is pushed up to maximum level.
  • Check your head set and make sure it is properly connected to your PC. Volume scroll on your headset should be set to maximum.
  • If you are using laptop and you are getting tutor voice clearly but your voice is not clear than make sure you disable the internal mic of your laptop when using head set.
  • In case of Desktop, if you have webcam connected to it than the mic option of webcam should be disable otherwise your voice will be not clear.
My class is not opening or coming up!

Try to change the device and check. Sometimes your Laptop might not be in proper working mode, however smartphones tend to work smoothly.

When should I refresh my class page?
Please refresh the page in the following cases:

  • Class page gets frozen (at any time during the class).
  • You are unable to hear the teacher voice while other students can.
  • Voice is breaking for you.
  • The teacher is unable to hear your voice after giving you the access to speak.
